Fast and Furious: Supercharged Replacing Disaster! at Universal Studios Florida

Well it took them long enough, but Fast and Furious is finally getting a ride at Universal Orlando Resort.

In a press release, the park announced that Fast & Furious: Supercharged is coming to Universal Studios Florida. In the franchise’s third theme park endeavor, guests will be immersed in the world of the seven feature films in what is promised to be one of the resort’s “most action-packed experiences.”

This ride is going to fuse everything you love about the films with an original storyline and incredible ride technology. You’ll get to check out some of the high-speed, supercharged cars you’ve seen on the big screen. You’ll be immersed in the underground racing world made famous in the films and explore the headquarters of Toretto and his team. Then, you’ll board specially-designed vehicles for an adrenaline-pumping ride with your favorite stars from the films.

Sadly, as with most major new attractions there will be ride closures to accommodate the construction of Fast & Furious: Supercharged as Disaster! will close it’s doors on September 8th, and the cast of Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue will make a final bow later this year. These closures open up a massive plot of land directly next to the incredibly popular Diagon Alley area which opened in 2014.

Little is known about the actual story and ride experience for the attraction, other than the fact that it’s expected to feature “specially-designed vehicles for an adrenaline-pumping ride.” In Universal fashion the ride will probably be enclosed, despite the fact that many fans are clamoring for more practical effects and in this case, an outdoor racing segment. Fast and Furious: Supercharged will open alongside Volcano Bay and Sapphire Falls in 2017 at Universal Orlando Resort.
