As Kings Dominion gears up for it’s 40th anniversary season, it’s taking a few steps back in order to bring back a few fan favourites.
in 2014, Kings Dominion will be celebrating their 40th season, and they’re delving into their past to bring back some “classic park icons” for the 2014 season. The planned offerings include the reintroduction of the classic blue soft-serve ice cream, a retheming of The Grove back to the original Candy Apple Grove that will include new ride lighting packages, The Congo being re-themed back to Safari Village, that will introduce “exciting improvements” to Volcano: The Blast Coaster, as well as a fountain show similar to the one currently at Canada’s Wonderland.

Overall, this screams Matt Ouimet; Cedar Fair’s CEO. As a former executive at Disney, he has been bringing a certain touch to the latest park developments, like Wonder Mountain’s Guardian, the new dark ride coming to Canada’s Wonderland in 2014.
