Yes you heard me right, Universal Studios Hollywood has confirmed that in the near future, a Harry Potter themed expansion will indeed be coming the “Entertainment Capital of LA.”
The expansion will include the famed Forbidden Journey attraction, as well as Hogwarts castle. Additionally, the press release states, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood will be created with the same commitment to authenticity and the same level of talent and resources as its Orlando counterpart,” hinting that this will be a land expansion, not just an attraction. Not much else has been released.
Many suspect the expansion will be located in the Upper Lot, to balance the park. Either in the Waterworld-Gibson Amphitheater area, or the Europe Streets-Terminator area, but either way. In a park as crowded as USH, something’s got to give.
My view: I can already hear the boos and hisses, but I personally don’t think this is the right move for the park. I know they’ll do a good job, but if anything, USH needs originality, like Transformers. (Only installation in America) It’ll probably work out in the end, but it’s not the right step for Universal Studios Hollywood.

On another note, it was also released that a “significant expansion” will be coming to the existing Wizarding World. We’re not sure if this will include the rumored Hogwarts Express linking of the parks.
